Karen Lanxon, M.Ed, LPC & Owner

Hey y’all! I’m Karen.

(But I promise I’m not a Karen—LOL!)

I’m a working mom of three amazing kids (two young adult boys and a preteen girl. Yikes! So much I can unpack with being a mom of two totally different stages of development) and married to my high school sweetheart. If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I’m a huge people person who loves the Lord, journaling, dancing, serving at my church, going on trips with the fam, and finding every opportunity to laugh. My life is full, busy, and blessed—but I’d be lying if I said I’ve never felt overwhelmed, burnt out, or like I’ve lost a little bit of me in the shuffle.

Through the under standing that it’s ok to have Jesus & therapy, plus the gentle, loving nudges from my husband (like, "Karen, you’re doing too much"), I’ve learned the power of saying no, prioritizing rest, and making space for the things that bring me joy. Whether it’s a quiet moment with my journal, a dance break in the kitchen, or laughing until my sides hurt, I’ve discovered that balance isn’t about perfection—

It’s about grace.

After a combination of over 20 years working with families through the foster care system, education, and my church community, I felt called to counseling—especially to help working moms. I know firsthand the challenges of balancing work, family, and faith while trying not to lose yourself in the process. My own journey has been far from perfect, but it’s taught me so much about resilience, grace, and growth. Now, I want to help other moms learn and thrive as I have; keeping in mind that my journey will be different than their journey. There’s nothing more fulfilling to me than helping women grow as parents, as individuals, and in their faith.

One of my favorite parts of being a counselor is connecting with my clients on a deep and genuine level. I’m known among colleagues as "the laughing therapist" because I believe humor can be a powerful tool for healing. I create an atmosphere of transparency, authenticity, and acceptance, where clients feel safe to share their struggles and victories. Building rapport quickly comes naturally to me because I show up as my true self—open, caring, and ready to listen without judgment. My goal is always to make my clients feel seen, valued, and empowered to take the next step in their journey. Whether we’re laughing together or processing through tough emotions, I want every session to be a space where clients can breathe, reflect, and grow.

As a Christian, wife, and working mom, I GET IT!

Together, we can embrace imperfection and discover the beauty of thriving in every season of life.
